About

Born and raised in Connecticut, David moved to San Francisco in 2005 to pursue his artistic ambitions. He earned an MFA in Sculpture from the Academy of Art University, building on his earlier studies at Syracuse University in New York, where he received a BFA in Sculpture with a minor in Jewelry in 2001. Throughout his academic and professional journey, he has continued to explore design concepts while expanding his expertise in fabrication techniques.

In 2010, David helped establish a shared design and fabrication workshop in San Francisco’s Dogpatch neighborhood, where he worked collaboratively with other artists and makers. While he has experience working across a wide range of materials, he has a particular affinity for metal, which plays a central role in his design and fabrication process.

David also taught courses in the Industrial Design, Sculpture, and Jewelry departments at the Academy of Art University. His teaching reflects a strong commitment to cross-disciplinary integration, drawing connections between technical skill development and creative exploration—an approach he continues to apply in his own work.

In 2021, David returned to Connecticut to serve as Shop Manager at MakerspaceCT, where he worked alongside an innovative team in a 25,000-square-foot facility, supporting a wide range of fabrication and educational programs.

David now resides in Cambridge, Massachusetts. In 2023, he joined the Teaching and Learning team at the Harvard John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences as Director of Design and Fabrication Instruction. In this role, he oversees a state-of-the-art instructional machine shop and collaborates with students, staff, and faculty on course-based projects and research initiatives.
